Community Board Voting

Validating Community Work by the Community

The Community Board Voting feature is supported by Social Mining, allowing users to participate in voting on the Community Board. The decision to enable this feature is determined by each project team.

Currently, Community Board voting is enabled on DAOVERSE and WAX Hub.

Voting Eligibility

To participate in Community Board Voting, users must have a minimum required amount of Reputation. Users without the required Reputation can lease Reputation from others.

The minimum required Reputation to vote on DAOVERSE Community Board is 0.5.

The minimum required Reputation to vote on the WAX Hub Community Board is 2.

Voting Power Calculation

On platforms where voting is enabled, the Weekly Inflation serves as a global variable, determining the total weekly distribution of Voting Power on the platform. The Weekly Inflation may vary across platforms based on decisions made by the project team.

Voting Power is distributed to eligible users every Monday based on their Influence. Users with higher Influence receive a greater amount of Voting Power. The default allocation is an equal amount of Upvotes and Downvotes for each user.

Note: If a platform enables staking, Influence is determined by both staking and Reputation. Otherwise, Influence is solely determined by Reputation.

Voting Points Assignment

When users spend Upvotes on an Activity from the Community Board, the author of the Activity may receive Points equal to the number of Upvotes received, and voters may receive Validator Rewards. Conversely, if an Activity receives Downvotes, the author may lose Points equivalent to the number of Downvotes received.

By default, Voting Points are assigned daily at 23:40 UTC+0.

Points are assigned/removed if Upvotes/Downvotes are given within 3 days after the Activity is published. For instance, if an Activity was published on June 1st, 2023, Points will be assigned if Upvotes are given to the Activity before June 3rd, 2023, 23:40 UTC+0.

If Upvotes/Downvotes are given more than 3 days after the Activity is published, Points will not be assigned/removed to the author of the Activity. For example, if an Activity was published on June 1st, 2023, Points will not be assigned if Upvotes are given to the Activity after June 3rd, 2023, 23:40 UTC+0.

Note: Only voting on Activities accessible on the Community Board will be eligible for the Voting Points assignment.
